  • President

    Jonathan is the founder of Baseload and as President leads the company’s executive team. He has been a leader in the renewable energy industry in Canada since 2001. Jonathan got his start as Director of Business Development for Northland Power. At Northland, Jonathan developed 160 MW of wind energy near Lake Huron, Ontario and 250 MW of wind energy in the Gaspe region of Quebec After leaving Northland, Jonathan was a principal at Gengrowth Renewables Inc. where he helped lead the development of 500 MW of in-service wind and solar projects in Ontario. Gengrowth’s Ontario portfolio represents approximately 5% of all wind and solar energy that is currently operating in Ontario with a capital spend of over $1.2 billion.

    Jonathan has an MBA from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and is a Chartered Accountant of Ontario.

  • Executive Vice President

    As Executive Vice-President Paul is responsible for leading the company’s development initiatives. Paul is a highly accomplished executive and leader in the Canadian renewable energy industry and has been at the forefront of developing clean energy projects in Canada for nearly 20 years. He is a principal and current President of Gengrowth and helped lead the development of 500 MW of in-service wind and solar projects in Ontario. More recently Paul has led the development of 700 MW of wind and solar projects in Alberta, with expected in-service dates in 2023 and 2024.

    Paul is a lawyer with a LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto).

  • General Manager

    James has been with Baseload since 2019 and is responsible overseeing day to day development and operation of Baseload’s energy storage and EV charging activities as well as identifying new strategic business initiatives. He has significant experience in the development of both grid connected and off grid energy projects and is helping lead Baseload’s deployment of its EV charging network across Canada.

    James is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a focus on environmental and natural resource economics.

  • Business Development

    Shauna plays a key role in the day-to-day management of the business and is also a key team member in respect to research and identifying project sites, landowner engagement, contract negotiations and contract administration. Shauna is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate sector. Some of her past experience includes commercial property management, property repositioning, development and real estate asset management.

    Shauna holds a LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School.

  • Engineering Advisor

    Matthew Clarke (PhD) has spent the last 10 years in product and project design/development for photovoltaics, battery storage systems, and diesel engines. He has performed technical due diligence studies as well as use-case analysis for various energy storage and renewable energy projects. Currently he is employed at S&T Smart Energy GmbH, supporting a smart grid product portfolio in the DACH and central Europe regions.

  • Construction Advisor

    Jeff serves as Baseload Power Corp.’s construction advisor. Jeff has years of experience in the construction industry and brings knowledge and insight in establishing an integrated development and construction process. Jeff previously served as Vice-President of Gengrowth where he was responsible for developing 90 MW of wind power and 60 MW of solar power in Ontario. In addition to his experience with renewable energy development and construction, Jeff has more than 10 years of experience managing the development and construction of commercial and high-rise residential properties across Canada and in the United States.

    Jeff holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Toronto and an MBA (finance) from Dalhousie University.

  • Financing Advisor

    Ari Silverberg is the co-founder and President of Harbour Equity. Prior to co-founding Harbour Equity in 2010 Ari was President and CEO of Charter REIT where he was responsible for setting the strategic direction and managing Charter REIT’s property acquisition and financing activities. Prior to that Ari worked in the development group at Chicago-based General Growth Properties Inc., a U.S. regional shopping mall operator, where he was responsible for the acquisition and development of retail and mixed-use real estate opportunities throughout the mid-west and western United States.

    Ari holds an MBA from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania, and a law degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia.
